Sweet Charlotte

It's no exaggeration when I say I read "Charlotte's Web" 57 times when I was a kid. I still love that story. I made the girls go see the movie when they were well past cartoon age.
I always laughed when Wilbur tied a string around his tail and tried to spin a web. I always cried when Charlotte died. What sweet story.
I found this "Charlotte" in my backyard the other day. Kinda creepy, yet pretty up close. If you forget all about the sucking -the-blood-out-of-it's-victims part, they look really cool.

But beware--- If they write your name in their web, you are the next victim!!!

OK I would totally FREAK OUT if I saw that in our yard. Somebody get the aerosol and a lighter.

Do you remember all those writing spiders we used to get around the propane tank at the white house in NC? Used to freak us out!
