A fish tale
In the end, he taught her well. She caught two and he caught nothing......but he really didn't mind at all!
And that's my fish tale!

#13
I've done my share of the big bang birthday parties. you know, the ones where you have to invite every kid in the class, and the kid with ADHD and disruptive disorder shows up and devastates your house in 43 seconds! I've done the all girls slumber party where you sweetly say "go to sleep girls" at 11pm, then sternly say "Girls be quiet " at 1am, then by 3:30 you are shrieking about dismembering body parts if they don't shut up!
Yeah, well the pay off is doing something really fun in lieu of birthday celebrations when they finally hit the teen years.
Yesterday, we celebrated Virginia turning 13 by a trip the the Atlanta Aquarium. It was a blast!

Please don't think I'm a bad wife
Wayne is leaving on a fishing trip with some buddies of his this afternoon. He won't be back until Saturday. This means that for two days:
........no cooking
.......the whole bed to myself
.......we can watch whatever we want on TV
.......I can stay up really late
Yeah, I'll be missing him like crazy by Saturday morning, but until then I might as well enjoy myself a little!

If I had the day off......
I would be sitting on my rocking chair, on the front porch reading my book, while the cat stretches out in the sunbeam. I'd be sipping my ice cold Diet Coke and listening to the birds singing to me. What would you do if you had the day off?

Food for thought
I love to read Stuff Christians Like blog. He is funny and takes hilarious jabs at the stupid traditions that we christians carry on as "sacred" that really aren't! Coming from a legalistic background, I often read his post nodding my head and laughing as he recounts stories that I can identify with from my church background to the tiniest detail.
Today's post was fantastic!:

Baby It's Cold Outside
Come on over to our house and eat some good ole hot chili! Who cares that its April 7th and only 50 degrees? We are going to snuggle up with our cup of chili and watch our favorite Tuesday night TV, yeah you know, Biggest Losers. Hope you are nice and warm too!

In the midst of it
Sometimes in certain seasons of your life you will find yourself "in the midst of it".... struggling with different things.......wondering , "How did I get here?"......"When will this be over?"...." God, it's too hard"........
Here's what God is showing me:
......He is faithful...He hasn't left me, even if I can't see or feel Him.
......Let yourself be transparent especially to people who love you.
......It's OK to be needy, God hates for us to self reliant.
......Every season has an ending, and I have a chance to really learn in this season, because it will pass.
......Help comes in unexpected times and unexpected ways.
......Bathing your mind and words in Scripture is a powerful tool.
Psalms 91:4
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
