She's my foo-foo dog

Wayne started it. Shortly after we got Ginger, our beloved dachshund, he somehow came up with this ridiculous name of "foofy" dog which we shortened to "foo-foo". I think it comes from the fact that she is prissy and like every good baby dog(baby dog means that this dog takes the place of baby #3 which never found it's way from the stork's nest to our house, or maybe he got sidetracked in the cabbage patch, but anyways, this dog is ordained by my husband to be an outlet for all my maternal urges. I am allowed to babytalk, cuddle and love on this sweet baby in place of a real baby, who requires daycare arrangements as well as eventual college funding!)she goes absolutely bonkers when I walk in the door until I stop and pay complete attention to her.

I love this dog,and she loves me-- I think maybe more than my two-legged children. It looks like she is dead in this picture, but she is enjoying a leisure sun bath after her morning bowl of Old Roy.

Turnin' Twelve

Turning twelve is a monumental birthday. There are many birthdays that are significant, like the first birthday obviously. Then there is sweet sixteen--kinda hard to compete with that one. Turning twenty one has it's own significance. I hated turning thirty but am looking forward to forty with no reservations.

Turning twelve is the best of both worlds- still a kid, but you are teetering on the brink of the teenage years. Twelve lets you enjoy some advantages of both world's.
So, with much joy we celebrated Virginia's twelfth birthday on Friday.

There was so much we did:

The cake had a blue dye that stained our lips and teeth blue-- pretty!

What's a party without your pals?

Bowling was an adventure.

And dinner at Little Tokyo's was delicious

We ended the night with ice cream at Scoops!

Happy Birthday Virginia! We love you!

Springtime at the Welch's

SS 2:12 " The flowers are springing up, and the time of singing birds has come."

Here is a little lopsided picture of my garden flag

By next week she will have big yellow blooms all over.

My friend Cindy gave me this geranium for my birthday. I love it!

It's a beautiful day even though I'm home sick with a cold. Sitting in
this chair with the sun on my face has made me feel a little better.

I love him because.....

1. He is the prettiest man in Putnam County!
2. He's my baby daddy.
3. He lets me pick where to eat on our Friday night dates.
4. He rubs my back when I have a cough.
5. He has never, never, even in my 9th month of pregnancy even so much as suggested I needed to lose any weight.
6. He prays for me and with me every morning.
7. His upper lip curls in the cutest way when I make him smile.
8. He tells me I'm really smart.
9. He's the best daddy to his little girls, and always says "I love being a girl Dad!"
10. He loves Jesus more than He loves me!

I'm happy because.....

I'm married to the world's greatest handyman and he just spent a few hours this afternoon putting in these awesome floors in my bedroom! They turned out beautiful and my living room and dining room are next!

I rewarded him with this chocolate pie straight off Pioneer Woman. It was delicious!

My annual summer black flip flops were bought today and last years are now banished to the camper for grunge use only.

I logged 45 minutes on this torture device this morning. My sins of the chocolate pie are forgiven!

These two girls helped me make supper and now we are gonna go watch a movie while Daddy watches NASCAR.

Enjoy your worship day tomorrow. He is worthy of all our praise!
